Youth Wrestling: 2023-2024 Season

Service Description

FHC Youth Wrestling is for athletes from 2nd through 6th grade. This program focuses on wrestling fundamentals and being part of a team. The program will run from November 28 - Feb 17, 2024. FHC Youth wrestling programs follow the Forest Hills Public School (FHPS) District calendar and there will be no wrestling the week of 12/25, or 1/5. The FHC Youth Wrestling program will participate in team GRAWL (Grand Rapids Area Wrestling League) events on five (5) Friday nights from Jan 12 - Feb 9 during the season and then conclude with a GRAWL Team Championship on Feb 16 & Feb 17, 2024. All members are expected to attend all GRAWL events during the season and the team championships as member of the team. Youth wrestlers are REQUIRED to have 3 items during the season. 1) 2023 FHC Competition Wrestling Singlet ($65). There is also a complete uniform that includes practice shorts, personalized performance hoodie and a competition singlet ($150) if desired. Uniforms and singlets are available on the FHC Mat Club team store. 2) Headgear which can be purchased anywhere wrestling headgear is sold. Please ask coaches for guidance on getting a proper fit. 3) Wrestling shoes which can be purchased anywhere. Coaches ask they be black, white or Ranger green in color. ***Mouthguards are optional and encouraged (REQUIRED if wrestler has braces) which can be purchased anywhere sporting goods are sold. Registration includes a 2023 FHC Youth Wrestling t-shirt.
